Education Intiatives

The Chamber has a long standing reputation for highlighting one of the gems of our parish, our local school system. Education is a vitally important to the business community and the Chamber’s leadership in support of education reinforces that relationship. For decades the Chamber has had a Scholarship program recognizing local high school seniors through a prestigious award program that is highlighted by an official Chamber Business Luncheon where awarded students and their guest are presented their awards.

The Scholarship Program and Student Interactive Programming are funded fully by the Business Community | Members of the Chamber. Administrative costs of the program are paid for through the members who invest in the Chamber of Commerce for not only their individual business needs, but the business community and the community collectively. The Committee is led by Business Volunteers in a structured environment following the Chamber's Strategic Plan (implemented by the president of the chamber) and supported by a Chamber staff liaison.

Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce Education Funds are dedicated to an education/business partnership fund which the Chamber administrates. Current initiatives include a continuation of our long standing scholarships and a program which prepares students with career ready training through business collaboration.
